Mark Phillips Piano Studio is more than a place to take lessons. It's a complete musical pathway, built to help kids grow from their very first notes into confident, capable musicians.

What sets the studio apart is that piano stops feeling like a weekly appointment and starts feeling like something students are personally invested in.

Kids form friendships here. They share classes, practice milestones, and small wins together. Over time, they become part of a real culture of music making, with twice yearly recitals, exams, and goals that give their practice a clear point.

Eventually, piano isn't something they do once a week. It becomes part of who they are.

Lessons should be enjoyable

Kids learn faster when they're actually engaged. We use modern tools, clear weekly goals, and music students genuinely want to play.

Fun without progress isn't enough. Reading skills, technique, and musical understanding get worked on from week one, not someday down the road.

Meet the Founder

Mark Phillips

President · Head Teacher

Hi, I'm Mark.

I am president and head teacher of Mark Phillips Piano Studio in Indianapolis. I started playing piano at 4 years old (coming up on 30 years!).

A bit about me: I'm a graduate of the Jacobs School of Music (BM, 2015) and also a professional multi-genre singer. A few venues I've been lucky to perform at have been Carnegie Hall, the Mormon Tabernacle, and the 2014 Indianapolis Circle of Lights in front of a crowd of 100,000+. When I'm not at the piano, you'll usually find me on the tennis court!

I started Mark Phillips Piano Studio in July of 2018 based in Indianapolis, IN. 5 days a week, I happily share my love for piano with our 100+ students.

My job is to make learning the piano feel easy, fun, and rewarding. Watching my students learn to love piano is constantly fulfilling and I absolutely love what I do!
